thanks for answering. i've heard some clips of Forgive Me Not. what i heard wasn't doom, but i like it. i haven't been able to hear the other bands.
so if Little Dead Bertha is among the first, when did they start? is doom new to Russia? there doesn't seem to be much of it. it seems like alot of it is more on the gothic side than the traditional doom side. i'm interested in that stuff, too.
i like what i've heard from Ocean of Sorrow, Yuggoth, Llanfair P. G., and Bloody Tears from mp3.com.

Alter Ego:
LDB wasn't the first & the only doom-metal band in Russia... about 6-8 years ago there was a huge number of bands of that style (or smth closely connected with doom) Goresleeps, Mental Home, Autumnal Discord, Great Sorrow & others...

i remember checking out Mental Home now that i've tried to access the page again. i remember thinking that they were cool.
i've heard some Autumnal Discord and it's pretty interesting. i'm a real sucker for a good female voice. i like some of the stranger guitar, but wish the bass and drums had more authority. i've only heard stuff from The Quest. is that about how they are?
i've read a couple of good reviews of Goresleeps and haven't found anything about Great Sorrow.
what are the others? who's the thickest? any suggestions for where i can read about Russian doom?
as for doom from elsewhere, i haven't checked out Desire, yet. they seem cool from what i've read. Galadriel kicks ass. they're one of my favorites.
