It's now Official...Mick Kimock of NJ Death Metal Band CORRUPTURE (also band of PESSIMIST vox/bassist Reaper)is the new drummer for PESSIMIST.

After recording of the Slaughtering CD and Milwaukee Metalfest '01 the decision was made to find a replacement for drummer John Grden. Grden (Ex-FEAR OF GOD) has been an integral part of Pessimist the past year and a half, and we wish him the best as he continues with his side project TRUE UNHOLY DEATH (featuring Sparky Voyles, of MISERY INDEX/DYING FETUS/MOD).

Mick brings a lethal hi-tech drumming style that will propel the band to even further heights!! Long-time Pessimist fans will be pleased to hear the return of classics from the first two albums Cult of the Initiated and Blood For the Gods to our live set as well as songs from the new CD Slaughtering at upcoming shows in 2002!!!

The 3rd full-length Pessimist CD entitled "Slaughtering the Faithful" is coming soon. Artwork is being completed by JonZig, and the CD is being mastered at Cyberella Studios. Due to delays the release has been pushed back slightly, but band promise it will be worth the wait. This is by far fastest, sickest and most extreme music in the history of the band. A crushing 37 Minutes, 9 Songs of Brutal Black/Death Metal, coming Fall/Winter 2001 on Lost Disciple Records.

Pessimist are gearing up for their third release titled "The Greater of Two Evils". Fans can expect this release to be fastest and heaviest material to date, and features the talents of new members yet retains the Evil and technical "Pessimist" sound. Song titles so far include "Stripped of Immortality", "Summoned to Suffer", "Infernal Abyss", "Metempsychosis", "Baptism of Blasphemy" and "Resurrected Torment". The new incarantion of Pessimist features Ralph (Bass/Vocals), Bill (Guitars), and John (drums), adding a whole new level of intensity, technicality and brutality. They have landed some opening dates with the legendary Morbid Angel in NY and VA with more TBA. Other tour plans include tentative plans for a full scale US/Canadian tour, a rescheduled S American tour and possibly a European tour. They will also be appearing at this years NJ Metal Fest, the MA Metal and Hardcore fest and the Milwaukee Metal Fest.
