PERSEFONE (don't tangle with PERSEPHONE (feat. L'AME IMMORTALLE members)) with their debute signed with CD-Maximum in Russia straight on, album is worth for it.

To be true, Russian label went on the positive risk with this CD, but the fans of unusual music will be satisfied. It's impossible to describe style, band playing, and it will prevent commercial success of the album. Situation is close to many Russian bands. Million melodies, many ideas, but most fans don't need it. In other hand PERSEFONE has better producing then most of our "poor" compatriots.

'Truth Inside The Shades' is hyper-melodious music, mixing on black-death-metal. Solo-guitars, keyboards (sometimes even in neo-prog vein), clean vocal, atmosphear, - you find them here. Different approach to writing songs, they are very long, but you will not bore. I think, album can be named as black-doom-metal, but i couldn't find any clear compairs. Last track 'The Demise Of Oblivion' can be relate to success of the band, PERSEFONE 'flirt' with classic and use chorus there.

Such bands will become more style consistent or lost in oblivion. Only genius stays in history, but unfortunatly i can't rank PERSEFONE as geniuses. Just youth of this band is main defect of this album, but all fans of melodious heavy-music have to listen to this.
