Is there anyone who was feared of IMMORTAL's possible commercialization, taking into account the fact they're now signed to Nuclear Blast? No one? Well, thank you. That means, you guys aren't that braindead ;) as some may think. Obviously, IMMORTAL are IMMORTAL and will stay the same ever further. "Sons Of Northern Darkness" was announced to be a step back to "Battles In The North"-era, and surprisingly or unsurprisingly enough, it is. Thousand times less roughly recorded, of course. Billion times more technical (of course). But still, it's violent blend of NORDIC black metal, this time as versatile as possible. Truly brilliant… although I wish they stopped looking so ridiculous in terms of visual image. |
