Galaxy of young power-metal bands, existing last 5-8 years, can conquer legends of this style. EDGUY parted with AFM and joined to team of strongest independent metal label. Despite of band's mega-popularity, they will get extra points to index of their celebrity. There is 5 songs and multimedia-section with history of recording of this CD on 'King of Fools'. Title song will include to full album, but 4 other will not.

 

At least 3 songs, 'cause last 'Life and Times Of A Bonus-track' is a joke. Sammet are telling about heavy life in show-bussines under accompaniment of piano. Even He mention Russian piracy, which force him also as bionus-tracks on conceptual CDs. Let's return to 4 remainig songs. First 'King of Fools' is just very good. Fast, lively with memory refrain. It will be loved by the fans. I think, It's already now singing  with the crowd during shows. 3 other songs are a little bit worse. They are on the good level too, but are a little bit monotonous. They are just three songs in EDGUY style! It's also good recomendation enough. Participation of Babelsberg orchestra is declared. It sounded only in semi-ballad 'Holy Water', and also it play intro to 'New Age Messiah', but orchestra is just beautiful wrapper.

 

I'd like to tell about lyrics also. Sammet infected by virus of "anti-globalism'. All songs round about unwillingness of move in one formation. It's great! But lyrics are too transparent even for people, who don't speak English very well. Somebody will love it, but i prefer more metaphorical words. In any cases it doesn't affect to high estimination of this album.

 

What can we wait from new album by EDGUY? 'King Of Fools' had to answer to this question. If songs allocate in such proportion as on mcd, 'Hellfire Club' would be regular very good album. But if there are more hits, as title-song, this CD would become a classic. In any cases estimate will range from 'very good' to 'excellent'.
