DREAM THEATER drummer Mike Portnoy, FATES WARNING guitarist Jim Matheos, CHROMA KEY/ex-DREAM THEATER keyboardist Kevin Moore, GORDIAN KNOT/ex-CYNIC bassist Sean Malone and PAIN OF SALVATION vocalist Daniel Gildenlöw have joined forces in a brand new, as-yet-unnamed supergroup which is scheduled to record its debut album in early June for a late October/early November release—possibly through Inside Out Records. Prog supergroup GORDIAN KNOT, featuring former CYNIC members Sean Malone (bass), Jason Gobel (guitar), and Sean Reinert, have replaced guitarist Ron Jarzombek (WATCHTOWER, SPASTIC INK) with former GENESIS guitarist Steve Hackett, who is reportedly recording his parts for the group's upcoming second album, Emergent.
