WOUND COLLECTOR is the brainchild of Peter Verdonck, a renowned Belgian saxophonist and composer who has earned his stripes in performances all across the globe with Thelema Trio, Manngold De Cobre, The Rhythm Junks, De Pandoering and many more. Yet his heart truly beats for death metal. On a quest to combine this passion for death metal with his favoured instrument he teamed up with Ben Van Peteghem (In Vain, Sadistic Embrace) on drums, Guy Van Campenhout (Notti Del Terrore, Angeli di Pietra) on guitar and Kurt Hermans (Herfst, Angeli di Pietra) on bass. Each of whom brings considerable experience in various metalbands.
On 10 and 11 july Wound Collector entered the studio to record 2 promo tracks in the Blackout Studio in Brussels. Hereby we present the first track 'WORSHIP OF THE ATON' with an accompanying lyric video:

Shortly before his 40th birthday, Bernhard Welz (No Bros, Schubert In Rock) realised his plan. For “Stay Tuned” – a charity project for the Linda McCartney-Fundraising Centre – he set up an all-star band. Obviously moved by good intentions, the project presented by the Graz originated musician made quite an impression, and the artists came to him in droves. So legends like Dan McCafferty (Nazareth), Tony Martin (ex-Black Sabbath), Neil Murray (Whitesnake) or Carl Sentance (Krokus, Nazareth, Geezer Butler) were quickly recruited. Even Guy Pratt (Pink Floyd, Roxy Music), Steve Lukather (Toto), Mike Stern, Mark King (Level 42), Katrina Leskanich (Katrina and the Waves), Laurence Cottle (Sting, Alan Parson„s Project) and Chris Childs (Thunder) could not resist the call.
Written and arranged by Bernhard Welz, the music is a mix of Rock music and classical ballads that should generate enthusiasm everywhere. Ballads like “Let The Star Shine On You” or heavy Rockers such as “I Don‟t Believe That Rock‟n‟Roll Is Out” clearly give us that impression. Since a considerable part of the musicians consists of Ian Paice, Don Airey, Roger Glover and Steve Morse from Deep Purple, cracking Hammonds and exhilarated guitar leads in songs such as “Traffic Night” or in the Oriental styled “Secret Land” do not come as a surprise at all. While “Fading Away” can be interpreted as a tribute to Jon Lord (Deep Purple) and Steve Lee (Gotthard), and even show hints of a John Miles vibe, “Young Free And Deadly” (original version on “Schubert In Rock”), which include a harmonica solo, can be regarded as a life attitude. Soulful songs like “Always Behind You” or “Believe Me” conclude this effort and feature a drum jam by Ian Paice as well as an incredible live version of “Child In Time”. To crown it all, Sir Paul McCartney appears with his 1970-released song “Maybe I‟m Amazed” in a version from 2014. An epic song on just such an incredible album – stay tuned.

The quintet - hailing from Hamburg, Germany - definitely aren't newcomers anymore, 'cause they're already around since 1991! They quickly released a demo, followed by the debut "When War Begins..." in the summer of 1992. Meanwhile, the band can look back on 4 full-length releases.

Bassist Roland Wurzner comments: "Dystopias as shown in Orwell's '1984' or Fritz Lang's 'Metropolis' have become more and more important these days, which also inspired our lyrics. The bigotry, as named and shamed in 'Metropolis', has found its way into today's society, but in a different way. The song 'Yoshiwara' is pretty much about this issue."

North America) and Eleven Seven Music (North America). Recorded in Los Angeles, the 15-track album sees the band taking a new approach while staying true to their vision and encompassing their unique, signature sound. IN FLAMES brought in Grammy-nominated producer Howard Benson (PAPA ROACH, MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE) as a collaborator on »Battles«, creating an album that speaks to all IN FLAMES fans alike.
"I think being in California really affected this album in the sense that we had a studio in the house that we were staying at and the vibe was really relaxed which lent itself to productivity," says vocalist Anders Fridйn. "It really helped having a producer who could make us focus on what we needed to accomplish and keep us on track," he adds.
"This was a very new approach for us because we've never let anyone else in the way we did with Howard," says guitarist Bjцrn Gelotte.
