Ronnie James Dio's sinister howl and wicked songcraft bewitched hard rock fans in the Seventies and Eighties during his memorable stints with Elf, Rainbow and Black Sabbath. Dio's successful solo career led to 10 studio albums and sales of more than 10 million records around the world.
After two albums with Black Sabbath, Ronnie James Dio left in 1982 and formed Dio with fellow Sabbath band mate Vinny Appice on drums. The group's platinum-selling debut Holy Diver arrived in 1983 and is now revered as a heavy metal masterpiece, including two songs that would become rock signatures: the title track and the epic "Rainbow In The Dark."
The band returned the following year with The Last In Line (1984), which became the band's second platinum seller and included the single "Mystery," as well as "We Rock," a song the band often used to close its shows. Sacred Heart (1985) achieved gold certification and introduced fans to the concert staple "Rock 'n' Roll Children." Dio's fourth studio album, Dream Evil (1987) included the singles "All The Fools Sailed Away" and "I Could Have Been A Dreamer."
In the Nineties, the group released two more stellar studio albums. Lock Up The Wolves arrived in 1990 and featured the single "Hey Angel" and rocking title track. Following a brief reunion with Black Sabbath in 1992, Dio returned with Strange Highways in 1993. The album featured future fan favorites like "Jesus, Mary and The Holy Ghost," "Evilution," and the title track.
Although Ronnie James Dio lost his battle with stomach cancer in 2010, his towering voice and legacy live on. The Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund, co-founded by Wendy Dio, is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable fund dedicated to supporting cancer-prevention research, raising awareness and educating the public about the vital importance of early detection and prevention when dealing with this deadly disease.

New track "Messalina" from coming out August 5 the new album BLOODY HAMMERS "Lovely Sort Of Death" can be streamed below.
"Messalina came about like the best songs usually do, just warming up without thinking too much. I was trying out my new Terror Bass head that Orange Amplification sent me and that bassline just happened while playing around. I thought... “hmm, I like that” and the rest of the song just flowed out." - Anders Manga, Bloody Hammers.
Dйparte have announced that their forthcoming full-length will be entitled 'Failure, Subside' (out 14th of October). The Australian metal extremists are furthermore revealing the cover art of 'Failure, Subside', which is based on a photograph by Alistair Davis of Zac Blain that has been edited by Sam Dishington and Michael Rankine. The cover can be viewed below.
DЙPARTE comment: "The artwork for 'Failure, Subside' deals with feelings of guilt, loss, anxiety, fear, and defeat, closely reflecting the themes throughout the album. These emotions are intimate, almost claustrophobic, clinging to us like dirt - we hold them close, swallow them, hide them away like scars for fear of the shame that comes from the exposure of weakness."
On further news, DЙPARTE have announced Australian live dates in support of their debut full-length. Except for Brisbane and Perth, the underground shooting stars will be joined by special guests NO HAVEN.
29 Oct 16 Brisbane (AU) Crowbar 04 Nov 16 Launceston (AU) Club 54 (+No Haven) 05 Nov 16 Hobart (AU) The Brisbane Hotel (+No Haven) 18 Nov 16 Sydney (AU) The Bald Faced Stag (+No Haven) 19 Nov 16 Melbourne (AU) The Bendigo Hotel (+No Haven) 25 Nov 16 Perth (AU) Amplifier 03 Dec 16 Adelaide (AU) Enigma Bar (+No Haven)
Regarding the tour, DЙPARTE state: "After more than a year since our last live performance, we are set to tour Australia this spring in support of our debut album, 'Failure, Subside'. The stage is where we feel the most at home, where we can truly express ourselves and create a deeply engaging, visceral experience for our audience. To say we are excited about this would be an understatement. Joining us across the country will be our good friends NO HAVEN, fresh off the release of their debut EP 'Colours of Nothing'."
